2020 has been an unprecendented year, bringing a lot of changes to how we go about out daily lives.  This project was created in response to some of those changes.  Attending events requires the utmost care; outdoor venues, limiting guests, and masks are all critical.

 Regularly available mask options

In late 2020 I had a wedding to attend, and the masks I had readily available were insufficient.  Most available masks were cloth or paper, and felt insufficient as a long term safety measure.  Better crafted masks, including N95 and other industrial type masks were harder to come by and were of a more utilitarian design.

I set out to create a 3D printable mask, that will be comfotable, reusable, safe, and allow for a bit of style.

Looking into other 3D printed mask designs, I opted to use the filtration system shown in LAFactoria3d’s Covid-19 Mask V2.

The mask was modeled in Solidworks and designed to fit, then accented.
